Wave 3 (Advanced level)

Wave 3 is the final step in the recreational freediving journey before instructor-level training. Designed for experienced freedivers, this advanced course builds mastery in deep diving technique, physiological adaptation, and safety — while also laying the groundwork for teaching and leadership in the water.


✅ Prerequisites & Requirements

To enroll, you’ll need:

  • Minimum age 18
  • Molchanovs Wave 2 certification (or equivalent)
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certificate (issued within the last 2 years)
  • Able to perform a 3:30 min static apnea, 75m DYNB, and 50m DNF

To certify, you’ll need to complete:

  • Constant Weight Bi-Fins (CWTB): 34–40m
  • Free Immersion (FIM): 34–40m
  • Constant No Fins (CNF): 25–30m
  • Buddying & Rescue: 20m + surface tow
  • Functional Residual Capacity (FRC) dives
  • Theory exam (online or in-person) with a passing score

🌐 Molchanovs Movement

Wave 3 unlocks lifetime access to Base Training 3 and Base Training+, along with eligibility to assist in Wave 1 and 2 courses. You’ll also open the pathway to the Molchanovs Instructor Course or Wave 4 – Competitive Freediving, supported by global community resources and dashboard tracking.
